　　愛と調和が一緒になって
　　私たちの魂にまといつく
　　君の枝は私の枝と絡み合い
　　私たちの根っこは結ばれている

　　私たちの枝には喜びがあふれ
　　高らかに音をたてやさしく歌う
　　足元のせせらぎが合流するように
　　無垢と清純とが出会う

　　君の枝には黄金の果実が実り
　　私の枝は花々でにぎわう
　　小枝の香りが風にただよい
　　枝先には亀が巣を作る

　　亀は小枝で子を育てる
　　彼女の子守唄が聞こえてくる
　　そして君の葉っぱの繁みでは
　　愛がなにかを語りかけてる

　　愛は繁みに巣をつくり
　　そこで夜を眠りあかし
　　そこで一日中戯れては
　　私たちの枝に囲まれて遊ぶ

ひとつの根から立ち上がった双生樹を歌ったものだろう。ブレイクは双生樹に、深い絆で結ばれた恋人たちのイメージを重ねたのだと思われる。
