ウィリアム・ブレイク詩集「ポエティカル・スケッチ」から「歌5」 Song No5（壺齋散人訳）

　　思い出よ　こっちへ来て
　　楽しい調べを奏でておくれ
　　お前の音楽が風に乗って
　　ふわふわ漂っている間に
　　私は恋人たちが夢見ている
　　小川の流れを見つめながら
　　水の鏡を横切った
　　妖精たちを釣り上げよう

　　綺麗な小川の水を飲み
　　ヒワの歌に耳を傾けよう
　　そしてそこに寝転んで
　　一日中まどろんでいよう
　　夜がきたら起き上がって
　　悲しみに相応しいところに行こう
　　暗い谷間を歩き通して
　　物言わぬ憂鬱を道連れにして

昼と夜、明と暗、喜びと悲しみの対比はブレイクが好んで歌ったところ。この詩にもそのコントラストが表現されている。
