説明の必要もないほど単純で楽しい歌だ。一種のパストラル・ソングといわれており、田園ののびのびと雰囲気を歌っているが、笑うのは人間だけではなく、森も小川も緑の丘も、そして絵本の中の小鳥たちも笑う。

笑い声のコーラスが伝わってくるような、陽気な歌である。
